In the heart of downtown Charleston, St. Luke’s Chapel is the epitome southern beauty. The moss, the palmettos in the courtyard and the spectacular architecture make for a welcoming and beautiful presence.
This sweet little chapel offers a getting ready room. The room is nor very large but it has a bathroom and enough space for a handful of bridesmaids. The skilled photographer will know how to use the interior of the church for creative and beautiful photos, as well as the courtyard for photos of the groom.
The interior of the chapel has a simple floor but a spectacular roof. The presence of the wood makes for interesting light inside that changes with the time of the day and the season.
We know that most people prefer to spend as little time as possible on formal photos. We love St. Luke’s chapel for the fact that it allows for indoor and outdoor formal photos. You may choose to stay inside on the hot days or use the adjacent garden that features a lawn, trees and greenery. The garden is suitable both for formal and for romantic photos. For those who love joining the cocktail hour, being able to take more photos on site before heading to the reception is certainly a plus!
