When Bess told me she had booked Lowndes Grove for her bridal portrait I may have done a little happy dance…but I would never admit that 🙂 The truth is this venue is just impossible not to love…the well kept grounds, the water views and the pristine historic interiors make it so easy and so pleasant for a photographer to take pretty photos.
We took these photos midday in May 2017 and the light was beautiful! As you will see throughout this post, we didn’t skimp on the different locations and angles on the property in this Lowndes Grove bridal portrait. I knew Bess wanted to make a print of her favorite portrait of the day and display that at the wedding and I absolutely love giving my clients plenty of options to choose from. We alternated between photos with and without a veil. We also we took photos both indoors with supplemented light as well as outdoors with natural light only. As you scroll down look for a special appearance from none other than Bess’ Mom. What would we do without the support and assistance of the best women in our lives? Speaking of, you will some behind the scenes photos of me as well, taken by the lovely Robyn Leigh, who came to give me a hand that day. We had a lot of fun, us girls!
Photographing this Lowndes Grove Bridal Portrait invited me to go down memory late to about 8 years ago when I had the pleasure of photographing the cover and a 7-page bridal feature for Charleston Style and Design Magazine (see below). Ahhh…those are such fun memories! DO you see now why I love this venue? 🙂 If you would like to see more examples of photos at this venue we recommend this gorgeous rehearsal dinner!
